Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Electrical and Mechanical Service Technician to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of wind turbines in accordance with the contract.

The role involves undertaking scheduled service and reactive maintenance, responding to site calls outside normal working hours, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, and ensuring that each task is undertaken in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised trade certificate, strong technical skills, and experience with HV/LV, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. They will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work at heights in confined environments.

• Schedule: 8 days on; 6 days off roster (drive-in, drive-out)

• Team size: Small team environment based on site at Collgar Wind Farm

• Work location: Collgar Wind Farm, near Perth

• Overtime pay: Available

1. Undertake scheduled service and reactive maintenance

2. Respond and attend site outside normal working hours to undertake reactive maintenance on a rostered basis

3. Maintain all company vehicles and keep plant equipment in good clean condition

4. Undertake operations and maintenance within the limits of training and authorisation including operation of HV and LV

5. Ensuring that each task is undertaken in a manner that ensure the safety of personnel, protects the environment, and work methods are followed at all times

6. Attend the site induction

7. Undertake the requirements of the SMA (Service Maintenance Agreement)

8. Complying with the duty of care assigned under OH&S legislation and demonstrate commitment to accident prevention

9. Observing all work instructions, procedures, safety codes of practice, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulations

10. Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required

11. Participate in safety, toolbox or other meetings where required

12. All other duties within competence, skill, qualifications and experience as directed

1. A Grade Electrical License and/or Mechanical Trade Certificate

2. Full drivers license

1. Literate with PC & modern technologies to support your day-to-day work

2. Ability to read/interpret technical drawings to support fault-finding and/or maintenance activities

3. Any knowledge of PLC and/or SCADA systems

4. Motivation to learn new skills and thrive in a growing industry

5. Understanding of safety principles, willing to adhere to and drive safety compliance company-wide

6. Experience with HV/LV, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in a residential, commercial, and/or industrial environment

7. Proficient in the use of various hand tools

8. Strong communicational skills, ability to work in a small team

9. Ability to work at heights in confined environments
