Job Summary

The role of a Senior Financial Leader involves overseeing the financial operations of an organization, ensuring sound financial governance and strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate & Financial Services, this position requires strong leadership skills to manage and lead a team responsible for managing the organization's finances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the finance team, providing guidance and oversight of the organization's financial systems, reporting, and compliance.
  • Lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of the organization's annual budget, long-term financial plan, and quarterly budget reviews.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management reports, annual financial statements, and performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and regulations while maintaining robust internal controls.
  • Manage the organization's treasury operations, including cash flow, investments, loans, and financial risk.
  • Liaise with external auditors, prepare audit and risk committee reports, and contribute to risk management and audit outcomes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial and accounting management, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a recognized professional certification (CPA or CA).
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop, mentor, and lead a team.
  • Ability to contribute to long-term financial planning and advise senior leaders on financial matters.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, with experience in managing audit, reporting, and compliance obligations.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities, with a keen eye for financial detail.
  • Experience with financial management systems, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and reporting software.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and represent the organization externally.
