About the Role

This exciting opportunity exists for a Data Migration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical department, you will play a crucial role in planning, leading and executing end-to-end data migration from legacy platforms into Microsoft Dynamics 365.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, have experience working with complex data sets and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions and has a proven track record of successfully migrating large datasets.

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing migration strategies, preparing and assessing data, designing and building ETL processes, supporting testing and cutover activities, ensuring auditability and handover, and mapping complex source and target environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Migration Strategy: Define the overall approach, select tools (e.g., DMF, SSIS, KingswaySoft) and manage timelines, risks and rollback plans.
  • Prepare and Assess Data: Conduct a full inventory of legacy data, assess quality, identify transformation or archiving needs and document source-to-target mappings.
  • Design and Build ETL Processes: Create and test ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory, incorporating cleansing and validation logic.
  • Support Testing and Cutover Activities: Perform trial and full data loads, assist in SIT/UAT, track data issues and support cutover and go-live events.
  • Ensure Auditability and Handover: Maintain migration logs, deliver reconciliation and compliance reports and provide handover documentation and training for ongoing data governance.
  • Map Complex Source and Target Environments: Define documentation for future state data governance.
Requirements
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures high data integrity.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to understand and map complex legacy data to Dynamics 365 data model.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Work through incomplete or poorly structured legacy data.
  • Collaborative Approach: Works effectively with business users, developers and consultants across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Adaptability: Responds well to evolving project needs and unique migration scenarios.
  • Relevant Experience: Proven experience leading at least one end-to-end data migration into Dynamics 365. Proven data migration experience using Azure cloud infrastructure.
