Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our WA Iron Ore team in Port Hedland. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing a maintenance schedule on fixed plant equipment, planning and scoping work, and making maintenance and operating decisions to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our assets.

Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining a high level of health, safety, and environmental awareness and taking ownership of your actions to prevent harm to people and the environment.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance inspections and recommending follow-up action to ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely.
  • Implementing improvements to work instructions and planned maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and improve overall performance.
  • Working from hydraulic schematic drawings, prints, plans, or manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out within the scope of the job, including pre-work preparation, execution, testing, and completion.
  • Taking ownership of the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of fixed plant.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized Australian Mechanical Trade Certificate (Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner/Machinist or Hydraulics).
  • A minimum of C class Manual Driver's License.
  • Breakdown/Fault finding experience.
  • Experience working with heavy fixed plant.
  • Component changeouts and experience with gearbox/pulley alignments, as well as laser alignment equipment.
  • HRWL, Rigging (Basic), EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space training, and current MSIC.

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
