Job Opportunity for Skilled Veterans
Kia Retailers are offering skilled and experienced military Veterans the chance to begin an exciting career as a certified service technician. The Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) has been established by Kia America, Inc. to support this initiative.

Job Description:
A variety of skills are required to diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components. This role involves completing repair orders and warranty request orders in accordance with established policies and procedures. It also requires testing drive vehicles, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools. Additionally, services, diagnostics, and repairs need to be performed in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need an Honorable Discharge, a valid Drivers License from any state with a clean driving record, and experience in a technical/mechanical field. You must also be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

This apprenticeship offers full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer, a program designed specifically for Veterans facilitated by Veterans, participation in a one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification, access to all tools, equipment, vehicles, and training needed to complete the apprenticeship and certification process, and eligibility to apply for and receive a substantial GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) during the apprenticeship.
