**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team at Charterhouse, working on rail infrastructure projects.

**About the Role**

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled project manager to lead technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery of projects within time, budget, and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery of projects within time, budget, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to evaluate project requirements, develop functional specifications, and ensure compliance with safety legislation and regulations.
  • Work with program/project managers and planners to develop project plans, including scoping, costing, and resource allocation.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including safety plans, environmental plans, IWP, ITP, and quality plans.
  • Analyse drawings and associated design and project documentation for technical accuracy and suitability.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure assessment of safety in design and constructability reviews.
  • Participate in the evaluation of tenders to ensure technical merits are carefully assessed.
  • Monitor and report project progress against the project plan, ensuring timely completion, cost control, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate handover process for completed works, obtaining acceptance from stakeholders.
  • Manage and close out defects, capturing re-work and reporting accordingly.
  • Establish procurement activities for project-specific items.

**Requirements**

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Substantial experience in project delivery and/or engineering works, preferably in a rail environment.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in providing engineering advice and support, including functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design, constructability reviews, testing, and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management support, such as developing estimates, preparing schedules, managing budgets, planning resources, project controls, and status reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in managing risk and safety performance in compliance with safety legislation, rules, and procedures.
