Job Title:

Infrastructure Planning Lead

About the Role:

The Infrastructure Planning Lead is responsible for leading the planning of efficient, smart, high-performing and integrated water and wastewater assets.

They will oversee a team of planners to develop plans for the water and wastewater infrastructure in 39 towns.

The Infrastructure Planning Lead plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

They will collaborate closely with strategy, asset planning and capital delivery teams to ensure seamless transitions of projects from strategy to planning and from planning to capital delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of plans for the water and wastewater infrastructure program.
  • Lead updates to the rolling 10-year Capital Program of works based on master plans and long-term financial models.
  • Provide expert advice on engineering and technical matters including development inquiries, proposed infrastructure and alterations to North East Water's assets or operations.
  • Ensure sound knowledge and practices are used in engineering and project management, adhering to legislation, codes of practice, regulatory and statutory obligations, standards and industry accepted best practices.
  • Lead the team, fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment that enables team members to perform at their best.
Requirements:
  1. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and support your team to succeed.
  2. Advanced communication skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  3. Ability to undertake analysis and provide technical advice on proposed infrastructure works.
  4. Demonstrated experience in program management, contract management and budget control.
  5. Tertiary or postgraduate qualification(s) in Engineering.
