The Role

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will design, manage, and supervise projects, working as part of a global engineering consultancy. You will carry out detailed design, assume the role of design leader, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirements.
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce coordinated designs.
  • Provide positive contributions to design/project meetings.
  • Maintain regular design reviews and checks.
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations, and project financial budgets.
  • Monitor contract staff or third-party appointments.
  • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships.
  • Pursue new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Assist Group Leader with identifying and implementing personal training/CPD requirements.
  • Participate in site works as required.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, and construction contractors.
  • Assist and coordinate design activities, processes, and technical standards.
  • Undertake technical reviews of the project to ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Actively participate in broader Office/Corporate activities as assigned or appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mission Critical Design/Data Centre Design Experience is an added advantage.
  • Consulting experience is a must.
  • Familiarity with Electrical proprietary software such as ETAP, Vipcodia, Power Cad, etc., is an added advantage.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
