We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Management Specialist to join our team at BlueScope. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth movement of raw materials across our production units.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to ensure raw materials supply and production needs meet demand forecast.
- Support commodities procurement and operations personnel with production forecasting, yield, and inventory management, including reporting.
- Identify and resolve issues with plant logistics capabilities that may impact production schedules.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a standardized tool for raw materials inventory management, materials tracking, and production forecast systems.
- Investigate ways to optimize processes, including reduction in working capital through data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Improve yield and production performance through enhancements and upgrading reporting systems.
- Demonstrated depth and knowledge of managing inventory at high volume and high value in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills and expert understanding of using various forms of data, including experience with relevant query and reporting tools.
- A strong sense of accountability and commitment to getting the best outcome for our business, with high flexibility to adapt to changing forecast needs.
- A proactive approach to decision making, able to balance details with the big picture and 'make a call'.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as supply chain, business, engineering, or information systems.
