About Our Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Equity Capital Markets team in Sydney.

As an Associate, you will work closely with public and private companies, financial sponsors, venture capital firms, and entrepreneurs to originate, structure, and execute equity financings such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, and block trades.

The role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional multi-tasking, time management, and communication abilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Originate, lead, and execute equity capital market transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients.
  • Develop content for meetings with clients regarding their strategy and potential capital market transactions, as well as regular market updates.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives.
  • Assist in coordinating live equity offerings, including bookbuilds and settlement/operational flow.
  • Complete and review analytical work of junior team members, provide mentorship and oversight to the junior team.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years' relevant work experience within ECM, Capital Markets, or related area.
  • A strong interest in and understanding of equity markets.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, time management, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail.
  • Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities.
  • Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact.
  • A well-rounded academic background from a top-tier institution.
  • An understanding of transaction cycles and the steps in the process.
  • The maturity to work with all levels of professionals across the firm and external clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess good judgment to make quick and complex decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative and technical abilities.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
