Senior Archival Professional

Description: As a senior archival professional, you will be responsible for leading a team of personnel in the RAAF Historical Records Section.
This section maintains a central repository of historical records, which includes both digital and physical archives. Your role will involve managing these records, ensuring their accuracy and accessibility to researchers and other stakeholders.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders at all levels.
The successful candidate will have a strong research background, experience in archival management and collection development, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The RAAF Historical Records Section plays a crucial role in maintaining Defence capability by preserving historically significant records.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of archival professionals in the management and maintenance of historical records.
- Develop and implement strategies for the accurate and efficient management of records.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Australian War Memorial and National Archives of Australia.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they meet performance expectations.
- Strong research skills and experience in archival management and collection development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
