Project Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Utilities practice area.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Charlotte office. In this capacity, you will contribute to the planning, design, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, distribution, and collection systems.

  • Assist in the design of water and wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, and utility infrastructure by utilizing your expertise in engineering calculations, hydraulic modeling, and process design.
  • Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and construction specifications that meet industry standards.
  • Support permitting efforts and regulatory compliance documentation to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, senior engineers, and other technical staff to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing water and wastewater treatment systems, including pump stations and utility infrastructure.
  • Conducting engineering calculations, hydraulic modeling, and process design to ensure efficient and effective system operation.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate and detailed records, including technical reports, design drawings, and construction specifications.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, including project managers, senior engineers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
  • At least 4 years of experience in treatment design and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, treatment process design, pump station design, and utility infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
