Job Overview

The Project Director is responsible for leading a team of professionals to deliver projects from inception to completion.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer head contracts and subcontracts by ensuring timely execution and effective resource allocation.
  • Act as a key member throughout tender processes and project delivery, fostering collaboration and driving results.
  • Develop strategic construction methodologies that enhance competitiveness and win tenders.
  • Design comprehensive project programs and communicate them to the team, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Identify and manage construction risks through all projects, escalating issues promptly when required.
  • Manage project expenditure and cash flow efficiently, minimizing financial risk.
  • Develop a thorough project completion plan, including defect identification and rectification procedures.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to project team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or similar fields, with a strong emphasis on leadership and project management.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish with a fit-out contractor or builder, demonstrating expertise in project execution.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, driving productivity and delivering high-quality results.
  • Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements/standards, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Strong project financial reporting skills, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, leveraging technology to enhance project efficiency.
