Job Opportunity: Childcare Centre Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced cook to join our team at the centre. As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and balanced meals for children with diverse dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver nutritious meals and snacks that meet national dietary guidelines.
  • Cater for dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural needs.
  • Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
  • Work with educators to support learning themes and special events through food.
  • Encourage healthy habits through engaging food experiences for children and families.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a cook or kitchen hand, preferably in early childhood settings.
  • Relevant cookery or food studies would be desirable.
  • Strong understanding of child nutrition and meal planning.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A warm and team-oriented approach, with a passion for children's wellbeing.
