Project Overview

Two companies within the CIMIC Group have been selected to manage a significant high voltage electricity transmission initiative. This project aims to enhance the capacity of the electricity network across regional areas.

The logistics scope of this initiative encompasses the establishment of extensive transmission lines and various infrastructure upgrades.

Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled Logistics Manager to become a vital part of our Construction Delivery Team, responsible for overseeing the logistics and transportation operations associated with the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily logistics operations on-site.
  • Formulate and execute transportation strategies aimed at enhancing efficiency and minimizing costs.
  • Create and coordinate detailed logistics plans, ensuring they align with project objectives while monitoring progress.
  • Draft comprehensive scopes of work for suppliers, adhering to procurement protocols.
  • Manage multiple storage areas to facilitate the effective handling of construction materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure resource availability for project execution.
  • Conduct meetings and workshops to engage stakeholders and gather insights on project strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations, implementing necessary systems and processes.
  • Maintain inventory control procedures.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet project demands.
  • Oversee both short- and long-term planning for construction activities.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators against project timelines and budgets.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with safety and quality standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Participate in financial reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the safety culture of the project and support the safety team.
  • Establish and uphold quality control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards, as well as company policies.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, preferably within a contracting context.
  • Experience in a construction setting.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant accreditation schemes.
  • Direct experience in managing logistics for construction materials.
  • Knowledge of heavy haulage and port handling is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to draft detailed technical scopes of work.
  • Experience in subcontractor management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card and may be required to undergo a medical assessment prior to starting.
