An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to contribute to the ground-breaking work of strengthening Victoria's Aboriginal communities.

This unique role will support the development and management of projects and programs that recognise First Peoples as self-determining drivers of Aboriginal affairs in Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for regulating the Aboriginal Lands Act 1970, building partnerships with government and community stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, planning and organisational skills, with an ability to apply sound judgement and initiative to the management of complex projects within scheduled timeframes. They will also have highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to effectively negotiate and resolve project scope, design and delivery issues with diverse stakeholders.

About the Role:

  • Develop and manage projects and programs to strengthen Victoria's Aboriginal communities.
  • Regulate the Aboriginal Lands Act 1970 and build partnerships with government and community stakeholders.
  • C Coordinate significant workstreams and deliver critical infrastructure for Aboriginal trusts.
  • Provide strategic advice to key stakeholders.

About You:

  • You have demonstrated ability in managing and maintaining constructive relationships with key stakeholders, including engaging in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner with Aboriginal organisations and communities.
  • You have knowledge of Aboriginal cultures and societies, and an understanding of historic and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal Victorians.
  • You possess strong project management, planning and organisational skills, and the ability to apply sound judgement and initiative to complex projects.
  • You have highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to effectively negotiate and resolve project scope, design and delivery issues.
  • You have excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise and grammatically correct reports.
