About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Aboriginal Family Support Specialist to join our team and provide expertise in cultural practice.
- This is a full-time position funded until 31 December 2027 with possible extension.
- It is a genuine occupational requirement that the successful applicant be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
- This role falls under Level 5 of the SCHCADS Award, with a salary range of $97,378 - $101,788 + Super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify knowledge gaps and develop skills in cultural competency areas.
- Collaborate with professionals and agencies using an ecological model.
- Support staff to understand and implement the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle in their work.

About You
- Tertiary degree in a relevant field (allied health, social work, human services).
- At least 5 years' experience providing complex case-management and therapeutic services to families and children in child protection frameworks.
- Understanding of current child protection legislation and policy reforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Other Requirements:
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Willingness of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural referee to vouch for your suitability for this role.
- Current driver's licence.
- Licence to work in Australia.
