Lead Compliance Officer

The role of Lead, Compliance is a critical position within the organization that oversees the company's compliance framework. This individual will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with various bodies, including AUSTRAC and ASIC.
This requires developing and implementing policies to monitor transactions for financial crime risks and ensuring the exchange operates with integrity and transparency.
The ideal candidate should have deep understanding of Australian financial regulations, as well as experience in AML/CTF compliance, risk management, and regulatory engagement.
Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance framework aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management & Monitoring: Oversee transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and know-your-customer processes to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Design and implement company-wide policies on AML/CTF, sanctions screening, and data privacy.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead the compliance team, provide guidance to executive leadership, and represent the company in industry forums.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master's or compliance certifications preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial services compliance, with at least 3 years in crypto, fintech, or blockchain-related firms.
- Skills: Deep understanding of Australian financial regulations, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership skills.
