Regional Cost Planning and Estimating Manager

The Regional Cost Planning and Estimating Manager is responsible for supervising the coordination of RBU cost planning staff and operations. This role requires driving implementation and guiding the delivery of cost planning procedures and processes to ensure compliance with organisational objectives.

This position ensures the timely and accurate delivery of strategic cost advice throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility through to final account.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and manage RBU cost planning team and activities, including evaluating the work of analysts and overseeing less experienced staff.
  • Implement, monitor and execute cost planning activities and programs, maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of cost planning outcomes.
  • Coordinate cost planning reviews to record and inform decision making, ensuring ongoing compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of cost planning developments and requirements, providing specialised subject matter knowledge and supervising application of cost planning methods, techniques and strategies.
  • Understand local market conditions, maintain genuine relationships with key subcontractors and source reliable market pricing.

About this Role

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of quantity surveying, estimating and cost planning principles and techniques. They must also demonstrate commercial astuteness in decision making and proficiency in escalation modelling.
