Environmental Technician

BeneTerra is seeking a skilled technician to join their workshop in Crowley Vale. This is an exciting opportunity to work on industry-changing equipment and contribute to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
The ideal candidate will have mechanical and/or electrical skills, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in combustion technology. They will be responsible for testing, fault diagnosing, and maintaining BeneVap submerged combustion units and associated systems.
The role involves regular travel to customer sites across Australia and New Zealand. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, operate and maintain burners, furnaces, or other combustion equipment, and possess good workshop practices and a commitment to safe working practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, service, troubleshoot, and repair BeneVap submerged combustion units and associated systems;
- Apply combustion knowledge to ensure optimal burner and furnace performance, including high-temperature process management;
- Work with Honeywell Burner Control Units;
- Attend to breakdowns when needed (often handled remotely);
- Carry out repairs and adjustments on components such as burners, valves, sensors, and control systems;
- Conduct all work with an environmentally friendly approach;
- Liaise with clients and third-party contacts;
- Maintain detailed, accurate documentation in accordance with workshop guidelines;
- Support the team with the R&D, design, and continuous improvement of niche technologies.
We're looking for someone who cares about the quality of their work and the impact it makes. If you've worked with burners, furnaces, or high-temperature processes and have the mechanical and/or electrical skills to understand the full machine, this is your chance to work on something unique.
Requirements:
- Mechanical and/or Electrical qualification and/or experience with a minimum of 2 years' combustion experience;
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities;
- Operation and maintenance of burners, furnaces or other combustion equipment;
- Sound understanding of good workshop practices and strong commitment to safe working practices;
- Be physically fit and healthy, and able to complete work occasionally in isolated or remote outdoor locations;
- Capable of occasionally driving long distances and availability to travel when required;
- Computer literacy (working with electronic documents, apps, spreadsheets);
- Open driver's license and passport;
- First aid, WAH, EWP, Confined Space and White Card are desirable but not essential.
- Company-provided phone, laptop, PPE, and job tools;
- Structured on-the-job training provided;
- Other training and qualifications needed for the role are paid for by us;
- Travel expenses covered by the company (you're never out of pocket);
- Employment Assistance Program (EAP).
