Beach Instructor Wanted

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced surf coach to join our team at one of our beautiful beaches. As a Surf Coach, you will be responsible for teaching and guiding individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure and be passionate about the ocean environment. You will need to obtain certain qualifications including the Surfing Australia Foundation (Level 1) Surf Coach Award, Ocean Safety Award (OSSCA or Bronze Medallion), First Aid Certificate and Working with Children's Check.

This is a casual position that requires flexibility, including working on weekends and being available for lessons at short notice. You must be energetic, enthusiastic and possess a willingness to share your knowledge with others. Your passion for surfing and the ocean environment will shine through in your teaching style.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and guide individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels in surfing techniques and safety procedures
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all students
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a surf coach or instructor
  • Current certifications in Surfing Australia Foundation (Level 1) Surf Coach Award, Ocean Safety Award (OSSCA or Bronze Medallion), First Aid Certificate and Working with Children's Check
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Passion for the ocean environment and teaching
