Family Preservation Specialist

At Uniting, we promote strong and self-sufficient families by supporting parents and caregivers to create a safe and nurturing home environment. This involves providing intensive wraparound case management services to complex and challenging families who present with multiple demands.
The role requires delivering assertive outreach, undertaking risk assessments, leading care team planning, and developing creative interventions to engage hard-to-reach families. As part of a collaborative care team, you will assist families to address the safety and developmental needs of children and young people, and support parents to enhance their resilience and self-determination.

Key Responsibilities:- Provide intensive wraparound case management services to children, families, and caregivers
- Deliver assertive outreach and undertake risk assessments
- Lead care team planning and develop creative interventions
- Assist families to address the safety and developmental needs of children and young people
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a child and family welfare-related discipline
- Current driver's license
- Considerable experience within the child, youth, and family welfare sector, including experience working with Child Protection
- Demonstrated understanding of theoretical approaches relevant to working with infants, children, young people, and families, including the Best Interests Framework
- Demonstrated ability to undertake risk assessments and plan and implement appropriate intervention strategies to engage families
