Senior Dotnet Developer


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Dot Net Developer for a long-term state government engagement based in Brisbane. The successful candidate will bring expertise in modern DevOps practices and play a pivotal role in designing and implementing build and release pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and blue/green deployment strategies within the Microsoft .NET technology stack and Azure DevOps platform.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain enterprise-grade build and release pipelines within Azure DevOps.
  • Design and integrate automated testing frameworks (unit, integration and functional) into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Plan and execute blue/green deployment strategies to minimise downtime and reduce release risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Application Environments, Database Operations, DataHub and Change Management).
  • Lead the development and delivery of Business Information Systems and APIs across the full SDLC.
  • Optimise application performance through SQL Server tuning, .NET enhancements and Azure integration.
  • Proactively review and improve DevOps and development processes.
  • Provide technical leadership on Microsoft technologies to reduce complexity, improve maintainability and ensure scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years' experience in Microsoft ASP.NET development.
  • Minimum five years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012–2022), including stored procedures, scripts and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated expert-level skills in build and release pipelines, automated testing and blue/green deployments using Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working in Agile software development teams.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with diverse business and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working within large government organisations with complex ICT environments.
  • Ability to adapt to and continue work developed by others.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong business acumen.
