About the Opportunity
The ASC is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead and support technical decisions across various disciplines, ensuring safety, accuracy, and value for money in implementation on board the Collins Class Submarine.
This role will involve acting as a project lead for specific tasks, providing leadership to a small team with a focus on delivery and quality. The successful candidate will have previous exposure to delivering key accountabilities such as:
- Engineering Domain Authority
- Project lead related roles on small multi-discipline tasks
- Preparation of technical reports and other engineering documentation
- Achieving progress against agreed deliverables and timeframes
- Delegating and providing technical direction to project teams
- Liaising with external and internal customers regarding assigned work
- Managing labour and material resources in line with approved schedules
About you
The ideal candidate will be an effective leader with solid written and oral communication skills, coupled with knowledge of inter-discipline requirements and dependencies. Experience resolving technical problems in design, manufacturing, maintenance, or production environments is essential, as well as implementing strategies to recover tasks that don't meet budget and schedule requirements.
To be considered for this role, an Engineering Degree qualification or higher in a related field such as Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering must be completed. Exposure to Systems Engineering, Marine/Industrial Diesel Design, and Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics will be highly regarded.
Compensation Package
The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $120,000-$180,000 AUD, commensurate with experience. This figure includes consideration of industry standards and the level of expertise required for this role.
