About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Anatomical Pathology Supervisor to join our team at Central Adelaide Local Health Network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the supervision of technical/scientific staff involved in the specimen cut-up and the daily organization of the FMC Anatomical Cut-Up Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of technical/scientific staff in the specimen cut-up laboratory.
  • Perform dissections of simple, non-complex, and complex specimens according to NPAAC guidelines.
  • Examine, interpret, describe, and dissect simple surgical and biopsy tissue specimens submitted for histopathological diagnosis.
  • Apply scientific specialist knowledge towards the performance, analysis, and troubleshooting of standard diagnostic procedures.
  • Apply professional judgment to select and apply new and existing methods and techniques.
  • Contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective Surgical Pathology service by providing highly specialized support in the area of specimen cut-up.
Requirements
  • Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
  • Working With Children Check (DHS)
  • Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description.
  • A degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 awarded from a university in Australia with >70% of subjects relevant to the field of pathology of a 3-year degree.
  • An associate qualification conferred by the Australian Institute of Medical Technologists before 1 December 1973.
