Online Education Services (OES) collaborates with universities to deliver thoughtfully crafted and highly interactive online programs. This role is situated within OES in partnership with Queensland University of Technology Online.
QUT Online provides exceptional educational experiences through degrees specifically designed for online learners. Each program is customized to create opportunities for students who may not be able to pursue university studies on campus.
At QUT Online, student success is our primary focus. This position offers the chance to assist and mentor students throughout their educational journey. Our Online Learning Advisors (OLAs) are experts in their fields who facilitate student learning, concentrating on helping them reach their objectives.
Key Responsibilities
OLAs are accountable for:
- Delivering an outstanding student experience through the presentation of academic content developed by our partner academics and learning design team.
- Facilitating engaging learning activities that support student comprehension and retention.
- Conducting assessment tasks, including moderation, grading, and providing feedback, while ensuring timely processing and submission of results.
It is important to note that Online Learning Advisors are not responsible for creating curriculum, designing learning activities, scheduling classes, setting assessments, or developing grading criteria.

Candidate Profile
We are seeking OLAs to instruct units within our Career Development & Counselling discipline.
Essential qualifications recognized by CICA are required—please verify this and highlight it in your application.
- You must possess a Master's level qualification recognized as a specialist qualification in Career Development and Counselling by CICA (Career Industry Council of Australia) OR a Graduate Certificate level qualification recognized by CICA along with a Master's in Education or Guidance Counselling.
- A minimum of five years of experience conducting career counselling or development sessions in a one-on-one setting, ideally across diverse client groups (Primary, Secondary, Higher Education, and Community).
- Familiarity with the Australian education system or the ability to acquire this knowledge promptly.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills.
- A strong motivation for student success and a passion for online education.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present information clearly.
- Strong presentation abilities and the capacity to maintain an engaging and positive online presence.
- Proactive and organized approach to work.
- A preference for working in a remote environment.
