Health, Safety & Environmental Professional

There is an opportunity to deliver essential Health, Safety and Environmental services and advice to enhance regional energy security and stability within the power grid. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of a state-of-the-art Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The selected individual will develop and implement Health, Safety and Environmental plans, conduct risk assessments specific to the BESS, and promote a culture of Zero Harm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Health, Safety and Environmental advice to achieve project objectives while supporting a culture of Zero Harm.
  • Conduct regular Health, Safety and Environmental audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance Health, Safety and Environmental knowledge and awareness among teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build strong relationships and ensure effective management of Health, Safety and Environmental processes.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, recommending improvements to prevent recurrence.

Requirements include:

  • Degree or diploma in occupational health and safety, or extensive relevant experience.
  • More than five years of professional experience with recognized expertise in Health, Safety and Environmental management.
  • Construction and/or operational plant-based experience, with knowledge of behavioural-based Health, Safety and Environmental management programs.
  • Proven track record in developing project Health, Safety and Environmental plans and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Accreditation to conduct audits within an industrial workplace is desirable, along with BESS construction or maintenance experience at a commercial or utility scale level.
