Role Overview

The Executive Officer for Paediatric Surgery will oversee the administration of the Paediatric Surgical Education and Training (SET) program in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Responsibilities include providing executive-level administrative support, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Committee with agenda, minutes and action lists.

Main Job Requirements

  • Provide high-quality administrative support, including report writing and correspondence preparation.
  • Maintain accurate records of SET Trainees' clinical and assessment requirements.
  • Support the Committee with agenda, minutes and action lists.
  • Identify and assign important issues for discussion.
  • Advise on policies and procedures to inform Committee decisions.
  • Prepare and maintain records and correspondence in compliance with legal guidelines.
  • Report data and information to external and internal bodies.
  • Assist the Manager with budgeting and scheduling activities.
  • Support special projects as required.
  • Monitor and maintain budget records.
  • Update web pages and content as needed.
  • Coordinate Hospital Accreditations.
  • Coordinate meetings and events.
  • Develop processes, initiatives, documents, policies and regulations as needed.
  • Serve as a reference point and correspond with current Paediatric Trainees.
  • Liaise with other RACS Specialty Training Board/Committees, Regional Offices, Specialty Organisations and Government bodies.
  • Train and guide RACS Staff to ensure effective team operation.
