Job Role

The role of the Visiting Teacher is to provide specialist advice and support to schools in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of curriculum to ensure full access and inclusion for students with a physical disability, health impairment, hearing impairment, vision impairment, autism, complex behaviour and/or learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support whole school initiatives
  • Provide specialist advice and support to schools in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to promote access and inclusion related initiatives
  • Enhance specific classroom practices
  • Provide educational services to students from pre-school transition to VCE
  • Undertake other duties related to supporting students with disabilities and impairments

Skill Requirements

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in teaching students with additional learning or wellbeing needs, demonstrated capacity to work within a collaborative team, excellent teaching and learning skills, and high level communication skills, networking and interpersonal skills.
