We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our State Taxes team in Brisbane. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to clients across various industries.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes, identifying duty and land tax exposures with a strong focus on risk assessment and communication.
- Provide strategic advice on the duty consequences of mergers, acquisitions, restructures, and divestments.
- Identify duty obligations and assist in preparing submissions for lodgements, applications, rulings, and objections with revenue authorities.
- Conduct thorough tax research, provide advice on tax planning opportunities, and assist clients in managing tax risks in their businesses.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in state taxes and other regulatory updates, actively participating in training.
- A completed Bachelor's degree in Law together with Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or equivalent.
- Recent M&A/transactional experience is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a client-facing environment and drive individual development.
