Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced medical professional to join our team as a Specialist in General Medicine.

About the Role:

  • Participate in at least two outpatient clinics per week, providing expert care to patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Lead a team on a daily basis ensuring that all patients admitted under the clinic have a comprehensive process of admission, management & discharge.
  • Assess and manage emergencies, arranging for appropriate ongoing management and collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Contribute to the Department's teaching and continuing education program, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and junior staff members.
  • Manage the General Medicine Department TMO roster and coordination of Paediatric after-hours services, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across teams.

  • Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing their needs and well-being above all else.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and guidelines in general medicine, applying this knowledge to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and colleagues, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner, demonstrating strong understanding of ethical principles and standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively within a dynamic and diverse environment.
  • Clinical experience and competence in the practice of paediatric medicine, with a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Able to work independently, managing workload and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, applying analytical techniques to identify and resolve complex issues.
