We're seeking an Aboriginal Environmental Health Officer Cadet to join our team If you're passionate about contributing to protecting health and the environment, we want to hear from you.
This is a full-time employment opportunity with our Environmental Health team. The position has been re-advertised, and we welcome previous applicants to reapply.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections of swimming pools, food establishments, skin penetration facilities, and other businesses
- Respond to enquiries and investigate complaints in a timely manner
- Educate people on how to protect their health and the environment
You'll work both in the office and out in the community. As a cadet, you'll receive:
- Ongoing mentoring for study, training, and work
- Paid study leave and tutoring support
- Structured on-the-job training to develop your skills
- Participation in the Aboriginal Trainee Environmental Health Officer network
- Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent and identity, recognized as such by the community
- Able to successfully enroll for the Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University
- Residing in NSW
- Committed to completing a degree part-time while working full-time
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Working towards or having a driver's license
