About the Role

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our team. As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for performing complex technical communication activities and associated tasks, working to agreed priorities and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment.
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making and priority setting.
  • Assess whether technical packages, reports, processes, product and equipment performance meet the specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into communications technical activities and tasks.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have highly developed communication skills.
About Our Team

EWIS Land SPO has a high performing culture and the successful candidate can expect to be challenged in their role and supported by an inclusive and considerate team and leadership group. The EWIS Land Engineering and Technical Team is comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to provide governance, assurance and enabling services to support a wide variety of activities undertaken by EWIS Land Executive and SPO business units.

Requirements

What We Offer

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Negative Vetting 2 security clearance. The successful candidate may be able to commence a role with a lower clearance however, failure to attain the Negative Vetting 2 security clearance may necessitate a role change.
