Senior Specialty Underwriter, East: A Key Role in Shaping the Future of Insurance

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of habitational insurance products and principles, as well as experience in underwriting/insurance. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Engage in next-generation risk assessment using data-driven methods to select risks and assess coverage/terms for growth and profitability.
  2. Quote and release new business, including referred business and those seeking changes beyond user thresholds.
  3. Analyze and approve policy changes to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  4. Maintain knowledge of E&S state insurance regulations and ISO rules within your territory.
  5. Communicate openly and supportively with team members and partners.
  6. Monitor portfolio via reports, audits, and inspections.
  7. Support marketing efforts to promote Honeycomb.
  8. Complete special projects and assignments.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Habitational underwriting/insurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of habitational insurance products and principles.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Retail agency relationship experience preferred.
  • Curiosity, hardworking, self-accountable, positive attitude, humble, and fun.
  • Openness to sharing and receiving opinions.
  • Passion for knowledge sharing and learning.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
