Job Title: Data Analyst - Energy Industry Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced data analyst to join our energy industry team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sourcing, processing, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets within our forecast offering.
  • Developing power market and dispatch models to enhance our product offerings using Python and scientific computing stack.
  • Collaborating with product and analytics functions to ensure alignment with user needs and provide value to the wider team.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience using Python or other programming languages with scientific computing stacks.
  • Strong quantitative skills and proven track record of solving complex technical problems using data analysis, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments for deploying data science models.
  • Proven experience with linear programming and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to produce data-driven insights for external customers with high-visibility outputs.
  • Previous experience in energy modeling, specifically focusing on Australian power systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A self-starter attitude with eagerness to dive into problems and learn quickly.
