About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced mental health peer work trainer to join our team at Orygen RTO. As a trainer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of mental health support for consumers by delivering engaging learning content for the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bring your experience as a mental health peer support/lived experience worker to the course content to deliver high-quality learning experiences for students.
  • Provide teaching and learning support as required to ensure students' satisfactory course progress.
  • Participate in quality improvements of the course design and delivery.
  • Collaborate with team members to validate assessment tools and moderate student outcomes.
  • Work with the workforce development team to develop and deliver projects and training packages as required.
  • Maintain industry and VET currency through ongoing professional development.
Requirements
  • Qualification in Training and Assessment equivalent to Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), or willingness to complete the course or any upgrade required.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in lived experience peer work in mental health.
  • Knowledge of peer work models and peer workforce issues in youth mental health.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
What We Offer
  • Salary between $73,804 - $91,587 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 11.5% super + NFP salary packaging up to $15,900.
  • Ability to purchase additional leave; access to EAP; generous Parental Leave Scheme.
