Job Description:

This role focuses on supporting Aboriginal families, encouraging a sense of community and promoting the safety and well-being of children.

We are recruiting for vacancies in Ballina, Lismore and Clarence Valley, where our dedicated team works together to provide assistance and guidance to those who need it most.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with other agencies and have a strong understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sensitive Case Work: Develop trusting relationships with clients, providing personalized support and guidance to help them overcome challenging situations.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Work effectively with other organizations and stakeholders to share knowledge, resources and best practices, ensuring the highest level of service delivery.
  • Family Support: Assist families in setting goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns and providing tailored assistance through home visits.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure the protection of children and young people.
  • Case Management: Manage complex cases and situations, working closely with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Court Processes: Participate in court proceedings, preparing relevant documents and attending court as required.

To succeed in this role, you will need a relevant qualification (or two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families), excellent communication skills, a valid driver's license, a paid working with children clearance number, and documented verification of Aboriginality.

Essential Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree: A relevant diploma or degree qualification or two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license.
  • Paid Working with Children Clearance Number: A paid working with children clearance number.
  • Documented Verification of Aboriginality: Documented verification of Aboriginality.
