We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Engineer to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engines, generators, and related technologies.

About the Role

This role involves providing mechanical service and support to customers across Australia. As a Mechanical Service Engineer, you will be responsible for completing preventative maintenance and repair activities on engines and related components at customer sites with minimal direction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner to ensure prompt and efficient attention to their needs.
  • Applying specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisors.
  • Performing preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
  • Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant trade qualification in heavy diesel mechanics (preferable)
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical, and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
  • Passion for providing outstanding service to customers.
  • Strong diagnostics application skills.
  • Ability to navigate the electronic service tool and complete service documentation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety fundamentals.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • A current driver's license.
