Job Opportunity:

Executive Director Position

The Department of Mining and Energy invites applications for the position of Executive Director. This role will involve leading the delivery of complex electricity and sustainable energy reforms. The successful candidate will provide strategic planning, resource management, and oversight of projects and policy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the facilitation of private sector projects in electricity and sustainable energy domains.
  • Inspire high-performing teams, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Translate intricate technical and industry issues into clear, evidence-based policies and strategies to inform government decision-making and deliver real-world outcomes across the energy sector.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of local and national electricity and sustainable energy landscapes.
  • Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating market-driven initiatives and economic strategies.
  • Executive-level leadership qualities and adept resource management, with strong strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, electrical engineering, law, public policy, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
