About this opportunity

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Restorative Engagement Specialist to provide authoritative policy and program advice.

This is a new role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Restorative Engagement. You will oversee program operations, mentoring and coaching support to a team responsible for delivering restorative engagement processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Manager, Restorative Engagement to lead, mentor, support and guide a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead program performance monitoring, including ongoing analysis of restorative engagement conference data, learnings and outcomes.
  • Provide high level and authoritative policy and program advice on complex issues to support program objectives.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Recent experience in a leadership role and the capability to think strategically.
  • Experience in strategic planning and delivery of participant-centred restorative practices and service coordination.
  • Technical understanding of trauma informed practice, methodologies and processes, and significant experience working as a practitioner in complex therapeutic contexts.

Qualifications

  • A qualification or relevant experience in public policy, social work, equal opportunity or psychology is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in government and/or in victim support / case management would be desirable.
