Strategic Investment Professional

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Investments team. This role will be based in either the Melbourne or Sydney office and involves working on a hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office.

This investment consulting analyst position plays a key role in delivering high-quality investment consulting services to insurers and enhancing Mercer's offerings across various insurance sectors, including life, health, general, and specialty insurance. You will collaborate with top-tier manager research and capital market teams, further developing your technical investment knowledge. Additionally, you will engage in a diverse range of strategic investment consulting projects for various institutions, such as superannuation funds, endowments, and foundations.

• Contribute to business growth through the application of analytical techniques and methodologies on a range of projects across Mercer Investments' service offering under the guidance of more experienced consultants, with a specific focus on providing investment services and advice to the insurance industry.
• Support delivery of client project work through research, analysis, applying relevant methodologies, attending client meetings, and drafting reports.
• Contribute to projects through effective task management and directly lead smaller client deliverables.
• Develop own capability through formal and informal learning opportunities.
• Participate in internal projects to improve Mercer, particularly focusing on talent, quality, service delivery, internal efficiency/effectiveness, and intellectual capital.
• Support business development initiatives and proposals.

• Relevant undergraduate qualification and an interest in Investment Consulting.
• Team player; we rarely work alone.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Experience within a corporate work environment.
• Working towards relevant professional qualifications (CFA/CIMA/FIAA/or similar).
• Technical base across investments and/or actuarial.
