Job Description

Mygration Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Services Officer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Support: Provide education and care for individuals with disabilities in adult service units, group housing, and government institutions.
  • Needs Assessment: Assess clients' needs and develop, implement, and evaluate educational, training, and support programs.
  • Client Interviews: Conduct interviews with clients to assess the nature and extent of difficulties.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on clients' progress.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Work with clients from diverse backgrounds to ensure their individual needs are supported while respecting their culture.
  • Service Delivery: Deliver services with compassion, integrity, and dignity.
  • Task Completion: Complete tasks as directed per Care Plans and Task lists, such as personal care, general housekeeping, social support, and transport.
  • Quality Support: Provide 1:1 quality support and meet the requirements of clients based on their individual needs and in line with their goals.
  • Community Access: Assist clients in accessing the community.
  • Client Eligibility: Conduct client assessments to confirm services required, and clients' eligibility to receive them.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and report writing on progress from the client and management reports.
  • Feedback: Provide feedback to the relevant Manager.
  • Program Development: Develop and employ strategies to attract clients to the disability care program.
  • Community Liaison: Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and private businesses and health care providers about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare the program for audit in coordination with the Q&C Supervisor.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required by the Disability Care Coordinator.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualification in community services and at least 2 years work experience.
  • Certifications: Current first aid and CPR.
  • Criminal History: A current Police Clearance.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills.
