About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Lead to join our team at Firesoft People. As a key member of our Managed Services support team, you will be responsible for providing Business as Usual support, as well as working on new enhancements and releases in a solid DevOps style.

This is a hybrid role that allows you to work from home and from office with a talented team of individuals. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients, technologies, and methodologies, and will be supported in obtaining technical and non-technical certifications to help with your career development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide your team to tackle complex level 3 support issues, requiring you to address major incidents and solve issues for high stakes Australian businesses.
  • Ensure your team has everything they need to deliver excellence. Lead resourcing, training, and professional development efforts.
  • Mentor developers of various skills and backgrounds and help them to develop professionally and technically.
  • When everything is going smoothly, lead improvement on our customer solutions. Drive focused automation, CICD, and optimisation activities.
  • Become the most powerful DevOps engineer possible. We'll support you in obtaining certifications and training to help us deliver even better.
Requirements
  • Experience leading a technical team.
  • A passion for DevOps and a driver for following best practice i.e., CI/CD and automation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in incident management (esp. major incidents). Support team/ITIL.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation technologies.
  • Experience working with and maintaining infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure or another cloud platform. – AWS/GCP.
  • Thorough understanding of administration, patch management, backup and restore processes.
  • Prior experience with Azure DevOps, Azure AD and GitHub or similar code repositories and automated build and release pipelines.
  • Experience in debugging and troubleshooting issues which span multiple integration components and technology stacks.
  • Experience with operational tools around logging, monitoring, and event management.
  • Microsoft Azure & ITIL certifications are highly regarded but not essential, we will support you in obtaining technical and non-technical certifications to help with your career development.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a flexible and dynamic managed services environment.
  • Willing to provide on-call support on a roster basis.
