About Our Chief Engineer Opportunity:

This is a senior leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, proven trade qualifications, and the ability to collaborate closely with senior management, stakeholders, and the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering and maintenance team with health, safety, and compliance as top priorities.
  • Build a collaborative team culture that supports development, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, capital works projects, and long-term asset planning.
  • Manage contractors to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Drive change initiatives, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Prepare and manage cost controls, energy efficiency programs, and operational budgets.
  • Provide clear reporting and updates to stakeholders and engage with the senior management team to support strategic outcomes.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A recognized trade qualification (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or similar).
  • Proven leadership experience in a Chief Engineer, Facilities, or senior Maintenance role, ideally within complex commercial environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety systems).
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health & safety and compliance.
  • Experience managing capital works projects and cost controls.
  • Skilled in contractor management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • The ability to influence, support, and engage effectively at senior management level.
  • A strong focus on fostering teamwork, collaboration, and a positive culture.
