Legal Counsel Opportunity

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a leading multinational organisation in the renewable energy sector.

The successful candidate will work closely with the procurement, engineering and construction teams to draft, negotiate and deliver all key contracts necessary to finance, construct and operate renewable projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Management: Reviewing, drafting and negotiating various key contracts, including EPC, O&M, development agreements, energy, green rights sales and complex construction contracts.
  • Legal Advice: Providing legal advice to the company on matters such as land acquisition, FIRB compliance, and M&A activity.
  • External Support: Working with external law firms to obtain legal advice and support when required.
  • Risk Management: Managing legal risks and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments within the company to provide legal support and guidance.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 4-7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Qualifications: Legally qualified and current practicing certificate.
  • Background: Top-tier or mid-tier law firm experience with relevant construction or infrastructure experience.
  • Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills. Ability to understand commercial objectives and implement legal strategies to facilitate achievement of commercial objectives.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong understanding of construction and operations contracts, land acquisition, FIRB compliance, and M&A activity.
