Marine Construction Project Manager

The role entails assessing, planning and managing marine construction projects along creek lines and shorelines accessible by a barge. Projects involve the design and development of seawalls, jetties, wharfs, pontoons and boat ramps, as well as the stabilisation of seawalls, marina construction, pier construction, waterfront boardwalks and pedestrian bridges.

Responsibilities:
  • Estimating and preparing accurate quotes
  • Meeting company targets for quote to job conversion rates
  • Ensuring all projects are completed according to contract specifications efficiently and under budget
  • Meeting target Gross Profitability Margins (GPM) for assigned projects
  • Implementing cost-effective project management practices
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years' experience in Marine/Civil/Landscaping Construction
  • Previous experience as an Estimator in related industries
  • Proficiency with estimating software packages is advantageous
  • Ability to assess construction risks and price accordingly
  • Trade Qualification or relevant certification
  • Strong leadership skills and effective communication abilities
  • Implementation and review of crew compliance with Safety Management Systems, company procedures and legislation
