Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Thermal Operations Manager, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience in power generation to provide both operational and strategic leadership for the power station. As the Operations Supervisor, you will lead a dedicated team of four skilled Operations and Maintenance Technicians and oversee the daily activities of subcontractors on site. Strong leadership capabilities and prior experience in site and operations management within thermal power generation are crucial for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment on site.
- Prioritizing, planning, and executing the facility's Asset Management Plan.
- Managing plant safety, performance, reliability, and budget to meet organizational goals.
- Leading and developing the site team while fostering a culture of engagement.
- Building and maintaining relationships across the organization and within industry groups.
- Supervising and actively participating in the operations and maintenance of the facility.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Significant experience in operations management and site supervision in power generation.
- A proven track record of setting high performance standards and accountability.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Expertise in Asset Management (minimum 5 years).
- Operational management experience in power generation (5-10 years in roles such as plant manager, site supervisor, or maintenance manager).
Skills & Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- In-depth knowledge of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and relevant regulations.
- Experience in managing WHS/HSE compliance and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with operational and management teams.
- Technical proficiency in power generation systems and equipment.
- Leadership capabilities in fostering a strong safety culture on site.
