Job Opportunity: Senior Plant Technician

This permanent position is located in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia and offers the chance to work with a crew of tradespeople. Your role will involve hands-on supervision and mechanical repairs to equipment.

You will be responsible for providing effective solutions to customers while ensuring timely completion of tasks within a collaborative team environment.

The mobile workshop and on-site repairs team handles a large machine fleet, performing servicing, planned shuts, and minor repairs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure efficient completion to the required standard.
  • Provide regular updates and act as liaison between the team, management, and clients.
  • Showcase Caterpillar best practices and assist with troubleshooting complex faults.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure completed assignments meet client expectations.
  • Support the business by working shifts across other crews as needed.
  • Provide relief coverage and swap roles with other mechanics as required.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Maintenance of heavy plant and equipment with post-trade experience.
  • Previous leadership or senior technician experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar Equipment and Warranty Process.
  • Knowledge of AMT, SIS, DBS for daily work order control and management.
  • Strong mechanical skills including fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Ability to provide positive leadership, manage people, and resolve conflicts effectively.
