HTANALYSTS, a specialist consultancy in health economics and outcomes research, is seeking a Senior Health Economist to lead the design, execution, and communication of economic evaluations that inform policy, access, and investment decisions.

The Role

As a Senior Health Economist, you will work across a diverse range of disease areas and product types, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health, public health programs, and social interventions. Your key responsibilities will include developing and adapting cost-effectiveness analyses, leading the development of economic evaluations for HTA submissions, applying economic methods to broader frameworks such as SROI and impact assessment, communicating findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, overseeing end-to-end project delivery, contributing to client relationships, business development, and proposal writing, and supporting internal capability-building and mentoring of junior staff.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree or PhD in health economics, economics, public health, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in HEOR, consulting, academia, pharmaceutical/medtech, or similar industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in economic modelling, including Excel, TreeAge, R, or similar platforms.
  • Practical experience preparing submissions for HTA agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams.
Why This Role?
  • Diverse and Purposeful Work: You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of products across multiple sectors that genuinely improve people's lives.
  • Regional and Global Reach: You will make your mark in shaping access and policy across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
  • Flexible, Remote-Friendly Culture: You will have the flexibility to work from home, in the office, or a mix of both.
  • Professional Development and Mentoring: You will be supported with structured mentoring, internal training, and access to continuing education.
  • Collaborative, Supportive Team Culture: You will join a tight-knit team that values mutual support, open dialogue, and shared learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real-world difference through rigorous, applied economic analysis. If you are a curious and detail-oriented health economist who thrives in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply.
