Motor Neurone Disease Support Specialist

This is a regional role in the Hume Region of Victoria and an integral part of the Palliative Care team. The purpose is to enhance the quality of life for people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) by:
- Encouraging early referral to palliative care services.
- Developing and delivering education to palliative care service providers.
- Providing coordination between palliative care services, MND clients and families in the Hume region.
The MND Support Specialist not only provides support to people living with MND but also to their families, health professionals, and community healthcare providers. They assist in navigating the pathways as MND progresses, which can rapidly change. Each individual has their own unique range of symptoms and requirements for support.
Key Responsibilities:- To work closely with the MND Advisor and Support Coordinator.
- To provide support and guidance to people living with MND, their families, and health professionals.
- To ensure that individuals receive the appropriate level of care and support throughout their journey with MND.
